YOUTH COMPETITIVE VOLLEYBALL
We Are Offering Something New!
Hereford Sports & Wellness has been asked to see if there is an interest in forming a competitive youth volleyball league. We are going to begin by offering two leagues: 12 & Under and 11 & Under. The age chart on this page will determine if your child is eligible to participate.
Teams will be formed by coaches and parents. Hereford Sports & Wellness will not be involved in the team formation process. This league is geared for those seeking to compete at the club and tournament level.
League Info & Requirements
Games will be played on Monday and Thursday evenings at the Knabe Activities Center. Games times will be 6:00pm, 7:10pm, and 8:20pm. Each team will play a total of 8 league matches. League play will begin Monday, February 17 and is scheduled to conclude April 3. A minimum of seven (7) teams will be required in order for the league to make. The maximum number of teams in each league will be nine (9) teams. Matches will have a time limit of one hour (60 minutes). Teams will play best two out of three sets. The first two sets will be played to 25. If a third set is required, it will be played to 15. A team must win by two (2) or more points. The set point cap will be 27. If the game remains a one-point difference at 25, the first team to win by two, or reaches 27, will win the set. The point cap in a third set will be 17. Cost per player is $40. Teams will be responsible for uniforms/game shirts. Each team will provide one line judge for each match. This may be a parent or any individual experienced in calling lines. Hereford Sports & Wellness will provide the chair referee. Interested?
If you have a team interested in securing a spot in one of these leagues, please contact Ed Garcia at 806-364-6990. You may also email Ed at egarcia@herefordsports.org. The deadline to determine if sufficent interest exists for this league will be Wednesday, February 5, at 5:00pm.
